Morning
Firstly, make sure you stay in a traditional Moroccan Riad, so you can start the day with an authentic breakfast of Khobz, Amlou, Fried eggs and olives on your private roof terrace. If heading to the labyrinthine souks, get there early to beat the crowds and try not to stand out too much as a tourist to avoid being overly hassled. Afterwards, head out of the city to one of the beautiful hidden gardens, such as the ANIMA André Heller Garden or Le Jardin Secret, for a well-earned moment of tranquillity and relaxation.
Afternoon
Once back in the city, enjoy a refreshing rose tea after a light lunch in one of the secluded courtyard cafes. Then take a few hours to explore the intricate architecture of the Bahia Palace, boasting exquisite marquetry and plasterwork to zouak. When you’re starting to flag, make your way to one of the many Hamman for an invigorating therapeutic spa treatment.
Evening
After an authentic tagine dinner, get immersed in Moroccan culture by attending a story-telling evening. For a final flourish, head back to your own private rooftop to marvel at the city under the stars, or for more atmosphere, music and cocktails, visit La Mamounia and its famous new rooftop bar, Le Club.
