Budapest, Hungary

Early Summer / Autumn

Morning

Walk through the centre to get your bearings, and then wander across one of the bridges towards Fisherman’s Bastion - a beautiful fairytale castle and Buda Castle. Don’t leave before you’ve experienced the panoramic views from the terrace.

Afternoon

After a historic boat trip on the Danube, head to one of the unmissable thermal baths for a relaxing dip, steam and massage - Gellert is the best for Art Deco architecture, whereas Széchenyi Thermal Bath is the largest.

Evening

Head to a Hungarian restaurant for some hearty fare and then head to one of the many Ruin bars in the Jewish Quarter, for a craft of beer and a taste of the city’s dilapidated history.
